Emergency Preparedness

Be Prepared.

Federal, state, and local governments have a number of resources available in case of emergency, but the most reliable source for help is yourself.  You know your individual needs better than anyone in government ever could.  All residents are encouraged to take an active role in being prepared in case of an emergency situation.  On this page you’ll find several links to pages that will help you be ready if a need arises  – from operations plans, to important tips and contact information.

Warming shelters, cooling stations, etc. are operated by the Harrison County Office of Emergency Services.  Their policy is not to release the locations of the shelters until they are ready to open them.
